Travel Program (U9 – U18)

Once players reach the age of 9, they are no longer eligible to participate in our Timbits program. Given the unique location of our club, all teams and ages from Under 9 through Under 18 will be travel teams regardless of the player skill level and league they will be playing in, from house league to competitive representative.

The Puslinch Minor Soccer Club offers the following options for play within our Travel Program:

House League Recreational L7:

This is the entry level league of play for those who desire a house league skill level, and minimum cost and time commitment. Teams will be filled based on a first come first served basis during registration. No try outs are held. Teams consist of a 2 year age group.

Players U10 through U14 participate in the ESL, while U16 and U18 teams play in the NPHSL. All teams are mini or youth recreational as applicable and will be subject to the policies and procedures of the league of play.

Players can expect to have one game per week on a regular weeknight as shown below, as well as at least one practice per week which will be at the coach’s discretion and field availability. Game nights have been the same for the past few years but are subject to change based on clubs’ specific needs and/or scheduling issues and are as follows:

BU10 Wednesdays GU10 Mondays

BU12 Tuesdays GU12 Mondays

BU14 Thursdays GU14 Wednesdays

BU16 Mondays GU16 Tuesdays

BU18 Wednesdays GU18 Thursdays

Teams can expect to travel and compete against similar skilled teams from Shelburne, Grand Valley, Orangeville, Caledon, Bolton, Hillsburgh, Milton, Rockwood, Acton, and Georgetown.

Participation at tournaments in addition to league play will be at the discretion of the coaching staff, and at the teams’ own expense.

Practices will commence outdoors as soon as weather permits in the spring, with regular season play commencing mid May through the end of August. Year end tournaments are held for all divisions at various venues throughout the league. Winter training will be at the coach’s discretion and gym availability.

**Club Registration Fees for 2012 are as follows:

Mini U10: $155 (Registration Prior to December 31, 2011 = $ 135)

Youth U11-18: $185 (Registration Prior to December 31, 2011 = $ 165)

** Township of Puslinch Fees are an additional $10/Puslinch Resident and $25/non resident in addition to the club fees.

Players will receive jersey, shorts and 1 pair of socks. Shin pads and outdoor cleats are at player’s expense and must be worn at all team events.

Recreational REP L6:

While still a recreational league of play, those participating in the SWRSL divisions can expect a higher skill level than the L7 teams, with the associated higher expense and greater commitment. Tryouts are held outdoors in the fall and will be for age specific teams as appropriate to the demand within the club.

Teams can begin to play in SWRSL as early as U9 through U18. All teams are mini or youth recreational as applicable and will be subject to the policies and procedures of SWRSL.

In addition to winter indoor training, players can expect to have one game per week on a regular weeknight as shown below, as well as two practices per week which will be at the coach’s discretion and field availability. Game nights have been the same for the past few years but are subject to change based on team placements from the various clubs. For the 2011 season L6 game nights were as follows:

Monday U9B, U12

Tuesday: U10G, U14, U18

Teams will also be expected to participate in several tournaments throughout the year at the discretion of the coaching staff and will be at the teams’ expense. Given the additional cost of warmup suits and bags, tournaments, exhibition games, indoor dome rentals etc. players can expect to incur fees over and above club registration costs. Teams usually set up their own fundraising and/or sponsorship in order to offset some of these costs to players.

Practices will commence outdoors as soon as weather permits in the spring, with regular season play commencing mid May through to the first weekend of September. Year end cup games are held for all divisions at various venues throughout the league the 2nd week of September with the cup finals being held the following weekend.
